SNOW DAY!!!

Today, we were able to enjoy some actual winter weather. It wasn't like what we had a few weeks ago with icy conditions. This was big white snowflakes, snow ball fighting, snowman making, snow angel making conditions. By 9 am we had somewhere between 3-4 inches. I know that may not seem like a lot to some of you, but after living in the south for close to 10 years, this was a pretty good accumulation.

We knew first thing this morning that Tyler's school and Joshua's daycare would be closed, and I have to admit, I secretly (well maybe not so secretly) hoped that even my office would close due to the inclement weather. I felt like a 10 year old waiting to find out if I needed to get ready to go into the office. It brought back the memories and excitement of when I was a kid growing up in Upstate New York watching all of the school delays scroll on the television. If you live in an area that is prone to snow, you will understand what it is like to wake up early to see if you can go back to sleep. In the end our offices all across NC (and parts of SC) were closed which meant SNOW DAY for the whole family.

I will say as I reflect on the day with everyone home, staying in jammies most of the day, having muffins for breakfast, toasted cheese with tomato soup for lunch and hot chocolate just because, it was a great SNOW DAY.
