Ok, I know most of you who read this have families of your own. So I need some advice....
I started both boys in a daycare this week which is very good and came highly recommended.
Tyler, who is on summer break and will start 1st grade this year, is in what is called "kid depot." Not really a daycare like setting, they take field trips once a week and it's more laid back and not so structured (I don't think at his age, any center is too structured,) but they do have to go from computers to soft play to reading to crafts and so on.
Joshua, on the other hand, is in the daycare-like setting and seems to be doing awesome. I swear he has grown up so much in just four days.
Where the needed advice is...is with Tyler.
Tyler, is not happy. He says there is too much to do. Not that he's bored, but that he doesn't get time because he has to go from one area to another. I am actually thinking of taking him out. He actually cries in the morning saying he doesn't want to go. I've never seen that out of him before.
Any suggestions?

My suggestion is have him hang in for at least a little longer. He just started he needs to get adjusted with the switching of the play centers. They do that at savannahs center. It so that all the kids have a chance to play with that art project or building blocks play spot. They may only let 4 kids play in one area at a time. I would talk to the ladies and see how much time they are allowing the kids at each spot. It may very well not be enough time at each but the thing is he's not bored. and hey he will still have the fieldtrips to do too.

I would give it a little bit more time. Once the scenery becomes familiar to him and he finds his own space there, he'll settle down a lot. My oldest, Ethan, had a hard time when he first started preschool, but each of the kids got their own locker with their names on it and that gave him the biggest boost. I mean, really, who doesn't like having a place to hang your coat and put your mittens that only you can use and has your name written in gold sparkly letters?
